Josh oversees academics, recruitment and tutorial for the Great Oaks Foundation. His responsibilities also include oversight of GO’s teacher development partnerships with NYU/Steinhardt and Relay. He began his career in education as one of the founding teachers at El Puente Academy for Peace and Justice in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, one of the first public schools in the country devoted to human rights. Most recently he served as the Dean of Innovation, Policy & Research at the Bank Street College of Education.
In his 25 years in education, he has worked extensively with educators and school leaders across networks to build learning organizations where the adult learning parallels that of the students. He graduated with a BA from Wesleyan University and an MA in Educational Leadership from Bank Street.
